All of our equipment is colocated in a highly secured state of the art data center located in Scranton, PA. We have 24 hour monitoring, multiple high speed network connections, redundant power, and is always backed up in case of failures. Rest assured, we've chosen our location and partners carefully.
Power... Our Network Operations Center currently has 800amps 480V & 600amps 208V 3-Phase power currently available from PP<M (Pennsylvania Power & Electric). The facility is currently backed up and protected by 225KVA and 160KVA PowerwareTM 9315/9395 facility-wide UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, which feed PDITM, MGETM, & LiebertTM PDU (Power Distribution Unit) systems. In a very rare case of utility outage, our CumminsTM 250KW & Detroit DieselTM 580KW deisel generators start automatically, taking over for the UPS systems and supplying all necessary power for the facility. The generators interface to the power grids thru AscoTM 7000 & RussElectricTM RTBD automatic transfer panels. The generators are powered by a 500 gallon fuel tank, capable of running without refueling for approximately 80 hours.
Monitoring... Our Network Administrators are on duty 24x7x365 to make sure the servers that host your web site are always up and running. They monitor web, mail, ftp, and all the behind-the-scenes operations.
Environment... Precision-controlled raised floor air conditioning systems protect and cool mission-critical servers and equipment in the Network Operations Center. The facility is controlled by multiple 30-Ton APCTM/AirflowTM, 20-Ton LiebertTM, & 20-Ton Data AireTM dual-compresser redundant systems. These systems provide a virtually dust-free and particle-free computing environment, with temperature, humidity, and air-quality regulation.
Connectivity... The network is connected via Gigabit Ethernet handoff(s) (1000mbps) on redundant/dual-path OC48 (2048mbps) DWDM fiber-optic transport connections to Commonwealth TelephoneTM (CTSITM), a division of Frontier CommunicationsTM, NorthEast PA's 2nd largest Telco. VerizonTM (Formerly Bell Atlantic PA) and PPL TelcomTM, (a sub-division of Pennsylvania Power & ElectricTM - PPLTM) fiber is also available in the facility. XOTM Communications is currently scheduled to install and light transport fiber to the facility in 1ST QTR 2008. The network currently connects BurstNET POPs (Points of Presence) in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, & Philadelphia, with others to be completed shortly. BurstNETTM transit is provided via Gigabit Ethernet (1000mbps) from Global CrossingTM (http://www.gblx.com), CogentTM Communications (http://www.cogentco.com), BTNTM/PCCWTM (http://www.btnaccess.com), & XOTM Communications (http://www.xo.com). For redundancy, BurstNETTM is currently running BGP4 (border gateway routing protocol) to maintain the speed and uptime. If one backbone line goes down, it will balance the load to the other(s). If one line gets congested, it will load balance the traffic. BurstNETTM is currently negotiating with major backbone providers to open POPs in the BurstNETTM Scranton PA facility. BurstNETTM is currently the only major data center/co-lo facility within 60-75 miles of the Tier-3 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre PA USA Metro Area.
Hardware... The Network Operations Center utilizes ONLY top name brand hardware. The network is centered on CiscoTM GSR12000 Border/Core Routers, connecting via Gigabit Ethernet (1000mbps) to the ExtremeTM SummitTM 5i/7i primary switches. Hewlett PackardTM ProcurveTM & ExtremeTM SummitTM 24/48/4 managed switches comprise the power and stability of the network, operating at 100mbps switched ethernet speeds. The network is protected from Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks via Top LayerTM Networks IPS 5500 series systems. Hardware utilized in the facility is comprised of name brands, including the following: IntelTM, AsusTM, SupermicroTM, AMDTM, AdaptecTM, CiscoTM, KingstonTM, MicronTM, CrucialTM, 3WareTM, MaxtorTM, AbitTM, Western-DigitalTM, SeagateTM, HitachiTM, DellTM, RealtecTM, & BelkinTM, APCTM, Tripp-LiteTM, PowerwareTM, & LiebertTM. Facility monitoring is provided by a GeovisionTM Digital Video System over SonyTM & PanasonicTM CCTV cameras.
Software... All servers run CentOS Linux with Apache and cPanel to handle your web hosting. We maintain current security patches, and up-to-date software.
